Dear Governor Christie,

The residents of New Jersey are unable to adequately protect themselves and their families once they leave their doorstep. The NJ Firearms statutes prevent even qualified individuals from possessing a defensive sidearm to protect their lives and the lives of their family while they are outside of their homes. This is unacceptable. While criminals always seem to be able to obtain and carry guns, the residents of New Jersey are prohibited from doing so. Any criminal with a gun can take your car, your valuables, your body or your life knowing full well that they are extremely unlikely to meet with armed resistance. Due to the refusal of our state to issue carry permits to qualified individuals, criminals are completely justified in believing that we will be unable to adequately respond to an armed attack.

We respectfully ask that you work with us to change this unreasonable situation. Now is the time to counter the claims of the anti-rights delegation with the harsh reality of what NJ residents must face on a daily basis. Families are unable to shop or conduct business without the fear of being molested or worse. Even in their homes, families fear that they might be attacked by someone looking for a quick fix or an easy score. It is essential that we act now.

The leaders and members of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) are asking for the opportunity to work with you and the Attorney General to find a way to resolve this inequity. We are asking for the opportunity to discuss how the Executive Branch can rectify the injustice being done to the people of our wonderful State. We can offer solutions and ask only that you to consider them. The people of New Jersey cannot afford to wait for their representatives to overcome their irrational phobia regarding the responsible ownership of firearms by our qualified residents. Too many lives will be irreparably disrupted by their unwillingness to act responsibly.

We are prepared to meet with you at your convenience. You have earned the respect and admiration of the people of New Jersey. However, now they are counting on you to help them keep their families safe at home and in the streets of NJ. Everyone knows how devoted you are to the people of the Garden State. Please let us work together with you to help keep them safe.

Good Luck to those folks. Christie is way too liberal on gun issues and I doubt he'll change anytime soon.

First of all welcome to the family,( being from NJ, that could have 2 meanings!)....We found that even here in Vt., with our very progressive and liberal Gov., that once approached with an intelligent argument on gun control, he say the right way, and declared that he would not sign any gun legislation that might have been passed. All pending bills in the legs. were dropped, and none have been inroduced, and even as they convene today, so far there is none on the docket.

WE have two organisations here,The Vt. Federation of Sportsman Clubs,and the Vt, Traditions Coalition that are very active in lobbying the Govt, and are very effective. Several legistaters that ran amuck, have been defeated....we have a ways to go, the control of this issue, and unfortunatly only this issue,have at least preserved our gun rights for awhile. As a side light, our State Constitution also make it clear that all Vermonters have the right to keep and bear arms, and also the right to legally hunt and fish within the State. That makes us 2x protected on this issue. But when OUR,(Vt.) foundingfather's were Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boy's....we maintained ourselves as an independent Republic for a number of years before agreeing to Join the USA.....Rebels from the start .....Ethan Allen once declared that he, " would retreat to the heart of the Green Mountains, and wage war on humanity", rather than bow down to a central Gov't.....still goes today.....Gary

I think your Gov. realized that VT. is not N.Y. or N.J.
and got off that kick real fast. I do remember reading about
those bills. That was last year.?

That other family you speak of well there armed I'm sure.
There motto is we don't need no stinking permits!! LOL
