Obamacare Distractions
Thursday, January 9, 2014 19:12
Obamacare in now in effect. I doubt that anyone would call it
successful. I would assume that most people would classify it as a
failure. But after its first week in operation, what are the
consequences?
Here are this week’s distractions by the media:
1. The Polar Vortex
2. Chris Christy’s bridge scandal: Fast and Furious
3. Robert Gates’ new book outlining Obama’s lack of military experience.
4. Mitt Romney’s black grandchild.
5. Michelle Obama’s extended Hawaiian vacation.
6. The sale of marijuana in Colorado.
7. Dennis Rodman’s trip to North Korea.
8. The necessity to extend unemployment benefits.
9. The end of Ben Benanke’s reign at the Federal Reserve.
10. Obama issues executive actions for gun control.
Not a bad list. You can always go to a media outlet outside the U.S. for some information:
‘They
had no idea if my insurance was active or not!’: Obamacare confusion
reigns as frustrated patients walk out of hospitals without treatment
MailOnline spoke with patients who were told they would have to pay
their bills in full if they couldn’t prove they had insuranceOne was faced with a $3,000 hospital room charge and opted to leave the hospital after experiencing chest pains‘Should I be in the hospital? Probably,’ she saidAnother, coughing in the cold, walked out without receiving a needed chest x-rayConsumers face sticker-shock from medical costs under the new Obamacare system, made worse if they can’t prove they’re insuredAs many as one-third of new enrollees’ applications have seen problems when the government transmits them to insurance companies.
