Millions of Americans talking about ousting president
(Tea Party) – Amidst their sneaky and underhanded tactics, the liberal left uses mockery to make light of serious issues in order to make them appear ludicrous. The end result typically marginalizes opponents and silences the argument.
But this time, their stooping-to-a-new-low strategy blew up in their face, completely backfiring on Democrats.
Recently, Democratic National Committee supporters received an email from the DNC with a message intending to blast four Republican Congressmen for suggesting that Obama could be impeached for continually violating the Constitution.
In part, the email read “Republicans are actually excited about the idea.” “Show these Republicans they are way, way off-base.”
Since then, the email has been seen by tens of millions of Americans, having been picked up by WND, the Daily Caller, Fox News and the Drudge Report. Also among those who noticed was Aaron Klein, WND senior staff reporter and New York Times bestselling author of “Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office.”
Klein told WND, ““The White House and progressive machine clearly have failed in their attempt to paint the impeachment movement as fringe and out of touch with reality. The general American public views with increasing concern Obama’s illicit extension of executive authority, his repeated bypassing of Congress and the many serious scandals that have plagued this administration from Fast and Furious through Benghazi through the IRS fiasco and now Obamacare.”
“The time has come for the country and our elected representatives to have a serious discussion about the constitutional ramifications of Obama’s highly questionable actions,” said Klein.
DNC email, divided into two segments, side by side
Multiple members of Congress have discussed impeachment, including: Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.; Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla.; Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, R-Mich.; Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas; Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Texas; Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla.; Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah; Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.; Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.; Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas; Rep. Trey Radel, R-Fla.; Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa; and Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla.
Rep. Steve Stockman, R-TX has suggested special investigations and potentially prosecution is needed regarding the Fast and Furious, Benghazi and other Obama scandals.
Another Texas Republican, Rep. Bill Flores was speaking at a town hall meeting when the idea presented itself for consideration. The Western Center for Journalism posted a video of his comments. “I’ve looked at the president. I think he’s violated the Constitution. I think he’s violated the Bill of Rights,” said Flores.
Flores believes a decision must be made at some point and stated that if the House had such a vote it probably would vote to impeach the president. The problem is that there are only 46 members of the GOP in the US Senate. If it got that far the president would be put on trial there.
In order to obtain a conviction, 67 votes would be required by the prosecution. Flores isn’t certain that all of the GOP members would even vote to convict.
Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-CA, divulged to the Washington Times, “I think he’s breaking the law if he strikes without Congressional approval” in regard to Obama’s plan to bomb Syria. “And if he proceeds without Congress providing that authority, it should be considered an impeachable offense.”
Sen. Tom Coburn, R-OK, says that Obama is “perilously close” to qualifying for impeachment. “What you have to do is you have to establish the criteria that would qualify for proceedings against the president, and that’s called impeachment,” said Coburn. Furthermore, “It’s not something you take lightly, and you have to use a historical precedent f what that means.” “I think there is some intended violation of the law in this administration, but I also think there’s a ton of incompetence, of people who are making decisions,” he said.
Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, R-MI, told the Birmingham Bloomfield Republican Club Meeting “it would be a dream come true” to impeach Obama. As he told constituents, “I feel your pain and I know. I stood 12 feet away from that guy and listened to him, and I couldn’t stand being there. But because he is president I have to respect the office. That’s my job as a congressman. I respect the office.”
Bentivolio has already met with attorneys to consult about what it would take to remove Obama from office.
Sen. Ted Cruz agrees with needing the Senate votes. “…To successfully impeach a president you need the votes in the US Senate.”
Farenthold is often asked why Congress doesn’t act. He responds to such queries by telling them, “f we were to impeach the president tomorrow, we would probably get the votes in the House of Representatives to do it.” But as is the repeated mantra of many others, he believes the Senate is the roadblock.
He worries about what would happen if they tried—and failed. Farenthold believes that could hurt the country.
Still others like Inhofe suggest that Obama could be impeached over Benghazi and the subsequent cover up. As he told listeners of “The Rusty Humphries Show”, “Of all the great cover-ups in history – the Pentagon papers, Iran-Contra, Watergate, all the rest of them – this … is going to go down as the most egregious cover-up in American history.”
Inhofe stopped short of calling for impeachment, however.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-UT, tentatively supports impeachment telling CNN, “I’m not willing to take it off the table, but that’s certainly not what we’re striving for.”
Two years ago, before most of this talk was taking place and before he was even elected to Congress, Rep. Ted Yoho, R-FL, called for Obama’s impeachment. On his website in June 2011 appeared a list of reasons for impeachment.
Quite a long list of others have discussed impeachment as well, ranging from Glenn Beck to Washington investigative reporter Bob Woodward and a panel of top Constitutional experts.
Rep. Steve Stockman, R-TX handed out copies of the book the Daily Mail of London called “explosive” to the other 434 House members to strengthen his case for a special investigation of President Obama. “Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office” presents a precise indictment.
The Daily Mail of London reports the book contains a “systematic connect-the-dots exercise that the president’s defenders will find troublesome.” Author Aaron Klein states we should “Consider this work to be the articles of impeachment against Barack Obama.”
Further Klein says, “Every American, whether conservative or liberal, Democrat, Republican or independent, should be concerned about the nearly limitless seizure of power, the abuses of authority, the cronyism, corruption, lies and cover-ups documented in this news-making book.”
Klein assures that the book is not a collection of gripes but rather a well-document indictment based on major alleged violations.
In the book, Klein cites numerous offenses, including:
Illegally and unconstitutionally bypassing Congress, infringing on states’ rights and providing for an unprecedented and unauthorized explosion of IRS power under Obamacare.
Blatantly end-running Congress by granting de facto amnesty to millions of illegal aliens using illicit interagency directives and executive orders.
Recklessly endangering the public by releasing criminal illegal aliens from prison at a rate far beyond what was reported publicly.
Blatantly covering up his role in the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack, with new evidence showing what transpired at the U.S. consulate prior to the assault which unto themselves are impeachable offenses.
Issuing illicit gun control edicts in addition to conducting the deadly “Fast and Furious” gun-running operation in an attempt to collect fraudulent gun data.
Employing extreme virtual surveillance methods including mining data at “fusion centers” , employing drones, and commanding alarming power grabs by the Department of Homeland Security all in a deliberate effort to monitor U.S. citizens.
Funding “green” ventures through the methods of rank corruption and cronyism.
Illegally leading a U.S.-NATO military campaign without congressional approval.
Weakening America both domestically and internationally by spurning allies and fortifying enemies, tacitly supporting a Muslim Brotherhood revolution and minimizing the threat of Islamic fundamentalism.
For now, the move to impeach is growing.
