This knocked a cold & sore throat out of my daughter in 2 days . Would'nt have believed it if I did'nt see it myself . Minus the alcohol of course ......
Honey Hot Totty
Slice a whole small lemon into eight ounces of cold water. Add ¼ cup of honey and a cinnamon stick, or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon. Bring to a boil and simmer for five minutes. Remove the elixir from the heat and allow it to steep for another five minutes. Breathe the vapors during this time. Slowly sip ¼ to ½ cup of warm honey elixir as needed for sore throat discomfort. Add a shot of whiskey, vodka or rum to half a cup of very hot honey elixir and sip at bedtime. Bundle up under lots of blankets to avoid catching a chill, because you'll sweat profusely all night. You'll feel much better in the morning. Grandma would say that's because the honey hot totty made you sweat the bug out of yourself.

I believe in the power of hot toddies but my best secret for knocking out a cold is find a Vietnamese restaurant and order up a big bowl of pho.Top it with raw jalepeno slices and siracha sauce. The broth has many aromatics in it like star anise that will help loosen up a cough. Then have a hot toddy at bedtime, heh heh.

Thai Cashew Chicken - HOT! That works and it's delicious My son and I went to a new Thai restaurant one time, and ordered it hot. The cook came out and asked us if we wanted it White Boy hot, or Thai hot. We went for the Thai hot - absolutely delicious but we were smoking volcanos..... You end up sweating profusely, drinking lots of water, and can have a blistered tongue. That is overwhelmingly our favorite food - you've missed out if you haven't tried it. But then, you have to be in a sizable metro area to find a good Thai restaurant.

At work last year the guys found out that I love hot peppers. Very high tolerance The peppers they couldn't eat, I chomped down. They put a hit on me. Came in with a new red pepper, said try this.... It was a darned Ghost pepper - Holy Toledo!!! Tears streaming down my face, deep breathing, lot's of huffing. But I did keep my cool (odd choice of words) = I survived. Took the other half down to my brother's, warned him not to try it - but of course he's more man than I you know. He threw it in his mouth and chewed, eyes watered up and he disappeared for a half hour to hide his pain. To his credit, didn't hear him screaming....

I seriously don't get it . Why eat food that causes you severe pain and numbs your taste buds ? I guess to each his/her own ......

My love of hot peppers began when I was about two. My brother and sister urged me to eat a "cherry"out in the garden, turns out it was a hot pepper. My brother has got me beat though Deep,he loves those ghost peppers. I don't really like it though when peppers overshadow the flavor of food though but complement it instead.

Your brother's got me beat too. The only ghost pepper I want to see is one to rub on a fence post to keep the termites away!!!Q

Just curious , have any of you ever tried Daves Insanity Sauce ?
Little story ,
My baby sister 35 at the time , ( yep one of those ) has always liked HOT peppers and such . When she lived with me a couple years ( in between jobs ) , I told her I knew of a sauce that she could'nt handle . As I knew she would say , Bring It On Big Brother ...... LOL I read the lable to her . ( Will Eat The Wax Off of Floors ! ! ! ) ( One DROP in a 5 quart pot of Chili is all that's recomended ! )
While I was at work the next day , she decides to put the ONE drop on her tongue . When I return home , I get a swift kick in the A$$ . I ask what the heck that was for . She procedes to tell me how bad ( HOT ) the sauce was . She could'nt taste anything since 10 am that morning !!!!! Her tongue had a white blister spot on it ! LOL I said I tried to warn her . But NOoooooo , Stupid is As stupid Does ....... LOL

Now come on guy.... Going in is one thing but certainly your not even thinking about the "coming out" part.... it's too late then (though can/does happen I admit). My boxer dog can burn my nostrils at times on the exit part though.
