And just to reinforce what we all probably know (but the average American does not), the words "well regulated" in the context of the time, did not mean "controlled". It meant well stocked and highly functional.

It's also well known, but ignored by the anti's that this amendment, allowing the right to bear arms was not only to protect yourself and your family, but also protection from an all encompassing Govt. The debate will continue but the right will not be infringed.....Gary

Think I have it figured out.Since the gov likes to use different words to mean the samething,just make it sound better.For example.As in its not all right to bomb a country but its alright to use a kinetic energy release against the same country.The libs try to do the samething regarding the 2nd.The nazis were famous for that.Remember resettlement.

what exactly is a southern democrat ?
I have been researching the entire day as to whom wrote the 1968 gun control act that says mentally ill folks do not have any second amendment rights, if like it says above, there are to be no exceptions to the 2nd.
so what of that ? am I or am I not protected under the second amendment ?
I see that lyndon johnson signed the gun control act into law, but nowhere can I find who all wrote it or added to it, considering johnson was from texas, how did he end up a dem ?
the cdc says that 50% of americans have or will have a mental illness, so what of that for gun rights ?
or suppose you own a gun and have never had any mental health issue, then something traumatic happens in your life and you go off the deep end..I really do NOT understand how any of us are protected under the 2nd.
At differing times in my life, I have been deemed both homicidal and suicidal...but that was by doctors that THINK they know what is in my head, or anybody elses heads, so I feel if there is to be gun controll against mentally ill folks then it must be on a case by case basis, but even in that, somebodys circumstances may change the very next day, I would really appreciate some input on this, you know having that homicidal crap on my med records is bullshit because when I had those feelings was more than 30 years ago, and I have never had any kind of feeling towards hurting anybody else since,..well there was one time in a walmart when a big black dude grabbed my wifes ass..I went to jail, he went to the hospital..and I am proud of it.
But does that make me dangerous ? I dont think so.

During LBJ's time, every one in Texas was a Democrat. That wasnt to long after the war of northern aggression. Those roles started reversing when the old KKK boys started feeling bad, and decided to give more rights to blacks, and got carried away with it.
LBJ got elected to the house by hundreds of dead voters and illegals. His district was along the Rio Grande
